Overview
Live Prototype
Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp (BHEC) is a sleepaway summer camp in upstate NY. I was tasked with a complete redesign of the camp's mobile website.
Main purposes of the site:
-
Provide information about the camp’s offerings
-
Enroll in camp
-
Dashboard for communication and updates between camp and parents of enrolled children (Note: I didn't have access to the full dashboard section so I didn't focus here)
-
Contact camp about hosting group events
-
Enable staff to apply to work at camp
Target users:
-
Parents of prospective campers
-
Parents of enrolled campers
-
Organizations or individuals looking for an event location or retreat host
-
Camp staff
-
Camp alumni
UX Design
Old site screencaps
After completing a heuristic evaluation, I determined that my main areas of focus were as follows:
-
Make the site more mobile-friendly
-
Most content needs resizing and a new layout
-
Buttons are extremely difficult to tap on accurately
-
Add full screen view for virtual tour module
-
-
Overhaul the site navigation and organization
-
Pages with redundant or related info can be consolidated
-
Full navigation should be accessible from any page
-
Adding search function will further ease retrieval of information
-
-
Give UI a facelift to capture the vibrant nature of camp

Logo Refresh
To match the new aesthetic of the site, I also updated BHEC's logo. A secondary goal of this effort was to simplify the mark to eliminate issues with scaling and colorization in other applications.
